Be a Local in Paris (14th arrondissement)

€0.00

My second tour takes place in the 14th arrondissement, which is my favorite area and contains many contradictions. For example, we meet at a point right next to Paris's underground cemetery, which can be visited as a museum. But, after walking a bit, we can see Paris's tallest building as well. At the starting point, there is a statue of a lion symbolizing the victory obtained after a battle, while in the later parts of the walk, we explore the streets where the people furthest from the war, artists, live. We walk on a street that dates back to the 1210s, just before reaching a square built in 1985 with modern architecture. Of course, we don't forget to have coffee and croissants in between. All these contradictions make this arrondissement attractive for me.What else is there in the rest of our walk? Let me write a bit. First, we start from probably the most famous food shopping street in Paris, then we see a building that won an award in the "best facade" competition held in Paris between 1898 and the 1930s. We walk a bit further and see a huge heart in the areas that were incorporated into Paris in the late 1800s. After renewing our energy with love, we will enter a street with a photography studio and a beautiful building that houses various workshops. We will probably say "I wish I lived in this house." After escaping the influence of this street, we will come to another street with buildings designed specifically for artists' needs. The idea that many painters, from Chaïm Soutine to Salvador Dali, from Henry Miller to André Derain, lived here and created some of their works will entertain us. When I think of painters, I usually think of colorful and flowery works, so it's no coincidence that I placed this stage of the tour on a street that could be an inspiration for painters. You will love this street! This also means that we are nearing the end of the tour. When we leave here, we will walk to a different street to have lunch, passing by the house of another painter, Jean-Julien Lemordant, and take our final photos in a small crescent-shaped square.
